UPDATE: Annual General Meeting & Celebration
Thanks to everyone who attended and helped make AGM 2008 a success!

We enjoyed seeing all those who attended in Vancouver our Annual General Meeting and Celebration.  Not only did we take care of official business but, according to BCNCC's newly elected president Raj Gill, "the people who came left satisfied and connected." We elected a new board and they are listed below.

The 2008-2009 Board for BCNCC is currently under re-organization.

We are very excited and hopeful about this up-coming year, the new events and activities that will make 2008 a banner year for BC's Network for Compassionate Communication.  If you have any questions or want to offer follow up to our meeting please contact us.

Membership Renewal Policy for 2008
We’ve begun our BCNCC membership drive!

The BCNCC Board recently streamlined our membership policy so that record keeping can be managed with ease and accuracy. Beginning Fall 2007, annual membership terms will be updated and aligned with the calendar year (January to December) in which you join. If you are joining BCNCC for the first time, you may join in the Fall of 2007 and your membership will be valid through December 2008.

All memberships paid prior to September 2007 will expire December 31, 2007, unless you have paid your membership registration or renewal after September 2007.  We encourage you to register or renew now for maximum length of membership.

In order to vote for new officers at the Annual General Meeting to be held in early 2008, your membership will need to be current. Also, we now require that memberships be current in order to post events to our online calendar.

If you have questions or concerns about this change in our membership policy, please write to us at the website email address.

We've added a new section to our website that includes more information introduced in our eNewsletter and additional news we think you enjoy reading.

Part of our thinking that affected our decision to add this section to our website was that not every one gets our eNewsletter.  So, for those who don't (or can't) get our information via email you can now see it here at our website!

A Practice Group That's Free!

Photo by Jeff ScheweIf you're short on funds or are just looking for an invaluable way to surround yourself with communication experts and others like you, then we have a suggestion.  Come to our meetings, get involved in one of our special projects, or help organize and assist with our trainings.  We also welcome suggestions for new projects where you want to bring NVC.  For example, we are interested in bringing NVC into our members' organizations, like schools, businesses and places of worship and spirituality. We need interested people to work with us on writing and editing content for our eNewsletter and website, graphic designers and artists for visual content, and all sorts of people to help create a world we all want to live in.  Our volunteer opportunities are a great way to interact with other NVC practitioners while developing your own communication skills.  It's like on the job training. These concrete situations offer dynamic and supportive communication situations in which to learn and model nonviolent communication.  Think of it as a practice group that's free!
